With the release of his debut album Dallas/ Fort Worth just days away, Stoney Creek Records recording artist Drake Milligan is set to perform tonight and tomorrow on the highest rated show of the summer, NBC’s #1 hit America’s Got Talent.
Pre-save/Pre-add Drake Milligan’s Dallas/Fort Worth here.
This evening, Milligan and his band will take to the stage to perform his iTunes Chart-topper “Sounds Like Something I’d Do.” Tomorrow evening, Milligan will join country superstar and five-time Billboard chart-topper Jon Pardi for a special performance.
Milligan’s single “Sounds Like Something I’d Do” will be impacting Country radio next Monday, Sept. 19, following the release of his studio album this Thursday, Sept. 15.
Milligan summed it up well while talking to People Magazine, “I’m really, really happy. America’s Got Talent has changed my life forever.”
Indeed – Milligan has been on a streak of iTunes domination, posting multiple chart-toppers across Country and All-Genre formats. He’s also been performing to packed crowds from California to Texas.
Building on the momentum of his run on NBC’s America’s Got Talent – Milligan sent his original song “Kiss Goodbye All Night” to #1 on both the iTunes Country Songs and the All-Genre iTunes songs chart. Likewise, his rowdy “Sounds Like Something I’d Do” landed at #2 (Country) and #3 (All-Genre).
Meanwhile, the newcomer’s self-titled EP rose to #1 on both the iTunes Country Albums and the All-Genre iTunes Album chart, and his music videos followed suit. At one point, Milligan held the Top 4 spots of the Country Videos chart, and occupied seven of the Top 30 spots All-Genre, including #3 (“Sounds Like Something I’d Do”) and #5 (“Kiss Goodbye All Night”).
All in all, it marked the second time in a month Milligan had taken over all three iTunes Country charts – Album, Song and Video – after doing the same with “Sounds Like Something I’d Do” in early August. It’s all tied to Milligan’s star-making time on America’s Got Talent, again impressing judges, his peers the media and fans alike.
Showing off an irresistible swagger, the newcomer’s “Kiss Goodbye All Night” earned coverage everywhere from USA Today and Billboard to People, Parade, Good Housekeeping, The Boot, Taste of Country, his hometown newspaper The Dallas Morning News and even international coverage from the UK’s Daily Mail.
In addition, legendary talent scout and AGT judge Simon Cowell went out of his way to voice support, saying Milligan had earned his “absolute respect” and proclaiming him “the best performance of the night.”
“In my opinion, I think you are the real deal,” Cowell said. “You’re a great songwriter. You have real charisma.”
Next up for Milligan is the final round of America’s Got Talent, tonight on NBC.
After wrapping America’s Got Talent tomorrow, Milligan will hit the road in support of his new album.
