Award-winning, breakout country artist and songwriter Madeline Merlo captivates audiences with a sensational joint release via BBR Music Group/Wheelhouse Records featuring original track “Take a Broken Heart” coupled with Merlo’s stunning rendition of Keith Urban’s iconic #1 song, “You’ll Think of Me.”
Produced by Zach Crowell, “Take A Broken Heart” speaks to all the places you can go with your broken heart as you drive forward leaving your ex in the past.
“’Take A Broken Heart’ is a song that I wrote on a beach writing trip and have been dying to put it out since,” said Merlo. “The song is reminiscent of a conversation I’ve had with my friends many times and a song I have needed to hear myself at times. If someone breaks your heart, don’t give it back to them.”
Also produced by Zach Crowell, Merlo delivers a vulnerable and female perspective on Keith Urban’s “You’ll Think Of Me”, a track that tells of being kept awake at night by memories of an ex and finding comfort in the fact that someday the ex will be the one thinking of her on lonely nights. When asked about the opportunity to record one of her favorite Country songs of all time, Merlo explained it as “a dream come true. I sincerely hope fans will enjoy my version of the timeless song, ‘You’ll Think Of Me.'”
Having “already proven her songwriting chops” (Billboard), Merlo has “long made a career by telling big emotional stories in the span of 3 minute or so songs” (American Songwriter). Similar to her critically acclaimed label-debut EP, Slide, that scored her praise from Billboard, E! News, PopCulture, MusicRow and more, Merlo continues to build her niche as a songwriter and artist, as she brings to life powerful female stories, from budding romances, to growing up and to the lessons learned in-between. “…Ready to make her name and talent known in the American country music landscape” (Country Swag), the “rising country star’s” (People) newest projects, “Take A Broken Heart” and “You’ll Think Of Me”, are out now and supplement her previous release “Tim + Faith” that debuted in September to praise and profiles from Billboard, Circle, CMT, Country Swag & more.
